Evoking the origins of mankind, Wood Metamorphosis is a wooden stool that brings back the ancestral wood carving technique to shape elements of the natural world as decorative patterns in contemporary design. Wood Carving is a technique with a strong tradition in Portugal. Wood Metamorphosis was conceived and sculpted thanks to the genial and talented master Júlio Leal. With wood as base, the pattern of the wood carving gradually starts to appear thanks to the detailed handmade work of the master artisan. This stool has a naturalistic inspiration, as we can confirm in the natural material used with carving as its only transformation. Dedication and patience are essential to this art that with little tools and human hands can create masterpieces. After two months, the detailed and repetitive process brought to us this exquisite piece.
